members visited Washington,
D.C. to tell members
of Congress and the U.S.
government about the
Leaders of Tomorrow Club.
LOS ANGELES YOUTH
PROMOTE HUMAN RIGHTS
IN D.C.
Young people from
around the United States
came to Washington,
D.C. to urge legislators
and education officials
to encourage schools
to require an education
on human rights as
part of school curriculums.

Tracie Morrow, a spokesperson
for Youth for Human Rights
International from Hollywood,
CA, joined other youth
from the San Fernando
Valley, Virginia, Florida,
D.C. and Maryland to
meet with members of
congress and U.S. government
officials.
The youth hope to
create renewed interest
in the Universal Declaration
of Human Rights through
an organization they
have created, the Youth
for Human Rights Leaders
of Tomorrow Club.
This club is an extension
of Youth for Human
Rights International
(YHRI), an outreach
program of the International
Foundation for Human
Rights and Tolerance.
Currently YHRI is active
in 26 countries around
the globe and includes
members of many faiths
and ethnic backgrounds.

Tracie Morrow stated, “We
want to not only educate
youth about their human
rights but also teach
them valuable skills
so they can promote human
rights and do something
about the state of human
